Mary Leissinger

Dr. Leissinger is thrilled to be part of Zoetis Global Diagnostics, bringing over 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine and clinical pathology to support patient care and veterinarians around the world. She has served as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she enjoyed working directly with veterinarians in primary care and across multiple specialties, supporting hematology and cytology diagnostic needs for companion animal, equine, large animal and exotic species. In 2019, she was nominated by her peers for and received the Early Career Award from the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology.

Her research interests have included all aspects of diagnostic clinical pathology as well as veterinary education. As an invited lecturer at UF, she has also given numerous continuing education talks at regional and national veterinary conferences and co-created a RACE-approved continuing education course for the NAVC institute. Dr. Leissinger completed her undergraduate and DVM training at Louisiana State University, where she was valedictorian of the 2010 veterinary class. She then completed a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a joint residency in clinical pathology and an MS at LSU. She has been practicing as an ACVP board-certified clinical pathologist since 2014.
